The mission of Professional Barber Institute (PB Institute) is to produce successful Pennsylvania licensed barbers and entrepreneurs, by providing a quality education in the field, and preparing our students for employment, teaching, and or ownership in the barbering profession.
It's a school where certified barber teachers instruct students for the 1250 hours of practical and theory training needed to take the Pennsylvania State Board Exam to obtain a barber license. PBI offers haircuts and other barber services to the public performed by PBI students under the supervision of a licensed barber teacher. This teaching environment mimics that of a real barber shop. A Barber crossover (695 hours) is also offered for students who possess a valid PA cosmetologist license at the time of application.
